Before you buy
Try the fit
Gen 2 comes in Wayfarer, Headliner and Skyler, some in more than one size. Check the frame size before you order, or try a pair in a store.
Decide on lenses first
Clear, sun, Transitions and prescription lenses change the price. If you need a prescription, check that your frame and range are supported.
Check the rules where you'll wear them
Workplaces, schools, gyms and venues may ban camera glasses. If that's most of your day, the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio may suit you better.
What to know before you pay
These are smart glasses with no screen. Most of what they do depends on your phone and Meta's app.
No display
You hear answers and notifications; you don't see them. If you want text or maps in the lens, that is the Meta Ray-Ban Display at $799.
Battery depends on how you use them
Meta rates Gen 2 at up to 8 hours of typical use and about 5 hours of continuous audio. Engadget got a little over 5 hours with continuous audio, and video recording uses power faster.
Gen 3 is out, for $70 more
Gen 3 launched on September 23, 2026 at $449. It adds about an hour of rated battery, a sixth microphone, an action button and Aviator and Zena frames. The camera specs are the same.
New features keep arriving
Meta says most software features announced with Gen 3 will also come to Gen 2. Landscape capture and Dolby Atmos recording were announced for later.
Phone and account required
You set them up and move photos with the Meta AI app. Meta AI features need a connection through your phone.
Camera glasses have rules
A light on the front shows when you record. Gyms, schools, offices and venues may not allow camera glasses.
