Before you buy
Read the exact model name
Listings mix the Tasman, Tasman II, Tazz and other versions, and the lining and price change between them. Check the name before you compare prices.
Pick your size on purpose
With whole sizes only, decide whether you want snug or relaxed. If you plan to wear socks, lean toward the larger size.
Treat the suede first
Apply a suede protector before the first wear and refresh it during the season. Blot spills and let the pair air dry away from heat.
Buying a gift
Whole sizes and a snug start make exact size guesses risky. Confirm the size and check the return policy before you order.
What to know before you pay
The Tasman is a warm house slipper that can go outside on a dry day. Fit and suede care decide whether you will like it.
Whole sizes only
UGG says to size down for a snug fit or up for a relaxed fit if you are between sizes. Nordstrom suggests the next size up for half sizes on the Tasman II.
The lining packs down
A 17mm lining feels tight at first and compresses with wear. A pair that fits perfectly on day one can feel looser later.
Suede and wet weather do not mix
Water and salt can stain the upper. A suede protector helps, but it does not turn these into winter boots.
Little arch support
The foam footbed is made for comfort, not for long walks. For all-day wear, a supportive shoe such as the Birkenstock Boston makes more sense.
Cleaning is by hand
UGG's slipper guide says to dab spots with a damp sponge, pat with a towel and air dry away from heat. It says not to tumble dry.
